Blazer Bam?

ZION TO PORTLAND? ESPN LAYS OUT POSSIBLE 3-TEAM DEAL FOR TRAIL BLAZERS.

With two days left before the draft, the Trail Blazers are reportedly in talks with the Miami Heat — but not about Damian Lillard.

Yahoo! Sports NBA Insider Jake Fischer reported Tuesday morning Portland and Miami are discussing a possible deal that would send All-Defensive star Bam Adebayo to Rip City in a package that includes the third overall pick and more.

Writes Fischer:

Portland appears unlikely to part with the No. 3 choice unless the Blazers are netting back one of a select number of premium targets to pair with Lillard. According to one source with knowledge of the situation, Portland is preparing what the team believes to be a compelling package for Miami to part with All-Defensive centerpiece Bam Adebayo.

In the next paragraph, Fischer notes that Miami is seeking Shaedon Sharpe as part of the getback in a deal for Adebayo, as well as Anfernee Simons and the third overall pick.

BETTING ODDS SAY BRANDON MILLER TO PORTLAND BECOMING MORE REALISTIC.

That seems unlikely, as Sharpe’s name has previously been deemed “untouchable” in trade talks. Whereas the trade package around just the third pick and Simons is already out there.

Fischer adds that even if a Bam trade to Portland doesn’t materialize, it signals the type of player Portland wants to pair with Damian Lillard. That could eliminate lesser-tier players that have also been rumored to be targets for Rip City.

Lillard and Adebayo have a good friendship and played together at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
