Oregon State Beavers Ranked No. 18 In Preseason Coaches Poll

By 750 The Game Staff

Oregon State does not know what conference it will be part of in 2024. But for this fall, the Beavers know they are regarded among the country’s best entering the final season of Pac-12 football.

Oregon State checked in at No. 18 in the preseason coaches poll released Monday.

The Beavers are among five teams from the conference to be ranked in the preseason coaches poll. USC leads the way at No. 6, Washington at No. 11, Utah at No. 14, Oregon at No. 15, and Oregon State at No. 18.

Georgia leads the way at No. 1 as reigning back-to-back national champions, followed by Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU.

Last season, Oregon State received just two votes for the top-25 in the preseason coaches poll. The Beavers went 10-3 overall for their second ten-win season since 2000 and finished No. 14 in the College Football Playoff rankings at No. 17 in the final coaches poll.

The preseason AP Top-25 rankings are scheduled to come out next Monday, Aug. 14th.

The five Pac-12 teams to make the coaches poll rank second only behind the six from the SEC. The Big 10 has four teams in the rankings, the Big 12 has five, and the ACC has three. Notre Dame (No. 13) and Tulane (No. 24) are represented in the rankings outside the power five.

The Beavers are underway with fall camp as they prepare to face San Jose State in the season-opener on Sun. Sept. 3rd at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
