Trail Blazers Lose Heartbreaker to Nuggets 106-105

For the second straight night, the Portland Trail Blazers came up one point short, falling to the Denver Nuggets 106-105.

The Trail Blazers hung tight all game long, but the Nuggets made shots down the stretch, outscoring Portland 24-21 in the final frame.

Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic made their return after missing Tuesday’s matchup with the Clippers. Lillard struggled to score 22 points on 9/23 shooting. Nurkic had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists on 3/11 shooting. He played a season high 29 minutes against MVP Candidate Nikola Jokic.

Speaking of Jokic, the Nuggets superstar had 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Michael Porter Jr. hit his first six shots on his way to 17 points on 8/12 from the field.

The Trail Blazers have now lost 5 of their last 6 games and 7 of their last 9. They’re now a half game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks for 6th place in the Western Conference. Up next for Portland, they take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
