A wild first half between Sporting KC and the Timbers. The TImbers started the scoring off with a Franck Boli goal early on in the 8th minute of the match. A nice set up by Moreno got the ball to Boli who finished to stun the crowd early on.

Kancsas City struck back with a beautiful left foot shot from outside the box by Erik Thommy tied the match at one. Timbers goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic actually got a finger on it. But he was a great shot to tie the match.

A goal by Dániel Sallói in the 43rd minute gave KC a 2-1 lead but the goal was disallowed after VAR called a foul on Kansas City. Making the match a 1-1 tie heading into the half.

The second half was less competitive as the home Kansas City squad took the match over.

Three goals including an own goal gives Sporting Kansas City a 4-1 win over the Timbers. As the Timbers looked tired and uninspired in the loss.
