OSU Women take down Oregon Ducks in Pac-12 Tourney Quarters, 71-64

For the second time in five days, the Oregon State women’s basketball team defeated rival Oregon, this time to advance to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas.

The Beavers used a 31-point third quarter to top the 19th-ranked Ducks on Thursday in Tournament quarterfinals, a final score of 71-64.

OSU defeated Oregon last Sunday in Eugene 88-77 to cap the regular season, and have now advanced to Friday’s Tournament semifinals.

The Beavs were led by a huge bench performance from freshman guard Talia von Oelhoffen, who scored 19 points on 7-for-16 shooting, along with six rebounds and four assists.  Three additional Beavers starters reached double-figures in scoring, with captain and senior Aleah Goodman putting in thirteen points.

Oregon’s Taylor Mikesell scored 24 points in defeat, as Oregon shot 4-of-16 from beyond the arc (25%).

The Beavers entered the Conference Tournament as the five-seed, and beat 12-seed Cal in the opening round on Wednesday 71-63 before taking down 4-seed Oregon on Thursday.  OSU will face the winner of 8-seed USC and 1-seed Stanford, set to tip off Thursday afternoon.  That semifinal will tip off Friday at 5pm in Vegas.
