Oregon Ducks Star N’Faly Dante Seeking Another Year Of Eligibility

By 750 THE GAME STAFF

Oregon was a team that needed every game to make the NCAA tournament last season. The Ducks went on a magical run in the Pac-12 Tournament to earn a No. 12 seed in the NCAA tournament.

In the tournament N’Faly Dante put on a show. In their first round matchup, a win against South Carolina, Dante had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. In the second round against Creighton, Dante was even better: 28 points, 20 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. It was a performance that Ducks fans saw and would miss next season when Dante runs out of eligibility. Or does he have another year?

Dante and the Ducks are seeking a waiver for an additional year of eligibility from the NCAA for Dante.

It’s not known if Dante will get another year, but he has missed numerous games in his career and played in only 22 games a season ago. This is coming on the heels of the Ducks getting a commitment from Stanford transfer Brandon Angel. Angel is a 6’8 240 pound forward who averaged 13 points and 4.7 rebounds last season for the Cardinal. If the Ducks can get another year of Dante, add Angel, and add in Kwame Evans Jr. returning for another year, the Ducks front court could be great in the Big 10.
