By 750 The Game Staff
Dan Lanning has agreed to a contract extension with the University of Oregon that runs through 2028, 750 The Game’s John Canzano reports.
Lanning, entering his second season as head football coach, will have a salary that ranks in the top 15-20 nationally, per Canzano.
Canzano reports the UO Board of Trustees is expected to approve the extension on Thursday.
The Ducks went 10-3 in Lanning’s first season in 2022, with losses to Georgia, Washington and Oregon State.
Oregon was picked to finish fourth in the conference in the 2023 Pac-12 media preseason poll released last week.
Portland State visits Eugene in the season-opener, Sept. 3rd at Autzen Stadium. Oregon then travels to Texas Tech on Sept. 9th in a nationally televised non-conference battle with the Red Raiders.
