Ionescu paces No. 3 Oregon Ducks to 79-59 win over Utah in Pac-12 Tourney Quarterfinals
The Ducks used a huge second quarter to surge past Utah, 79-59, on Friday night in Las Vegas.
Oregon trailed after the first, 19-16, but they outscored Utah 29-10 in the second frame to lead 45-29.
The Ducks were mostly able to coast the rest of the way. They did more than enough in the second half, holding Utah to 30 more points the rest of the way.
Oregon’s star senior, Sabrina Ionescu, collected another double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds) while stuffing the rest of stat sheet with eight assists, two steals and two blocks as No. 1 seeded Oregon blasted through the Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinals.
Junior Satou Sabally poured in 17 points, and the Ducks as a team shot 12-of-23 (52.2%) from three. By comparison, Utah shot terribly from deep (5-of-18, 27.8%).
