Ducks QB Robby Ashford reportedly entering transfer portal

With Bo Nix arriving in Eugene this past weekend, another Ducks quarterback has decided to exit Eugene.
Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel reports that Robby Ashford will soon enter the transfer portal.
Source: Oregon quarterback Robby Ashford plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He’s expected to end up in there in the next 24 hours. Ashford was the No. 15 @rivals dual-threat QB in 2020.

Ashford was originally an Ole Miss commit in the class of 2020 before de-committing from the Rebels and ultimately signing with the Ducks. A Hoover, Ala. native, a return to the southeast could make sense for Ashford’s future.
Oregon’s quarterback room got crowded with the transfer of Bo Nix from Auburn in December. Nix has a history with new Ducks offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham, who was the OC at Auburn in Nix’s freshman season of 2019.
Oregon also has highly touted freshman Ty Thompson in the QB room as well as freshman Jay Butterfield.
