Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard joined Draymond Green as the first two NBA players to commit to next month’s Tokyo Olympics:
Lillard will be playing in his first Olympics after dropping out of consideration for the 2016 Rio Games. He previously participated in the 2013 Team USA minicamp. This means a shortened offseason for Lillard – Training camp begins July 6 in Las Vegas with coach Gregg Popovich, with rosters being finalized by late June. The group stage of the tournament runs from July 25 to August 1, with the knockout stage running from August 3 to August 7.
