Alleah Taylor, Chad Wheeler’s Ex-Girlfriend, Talks about alleged assault

Alleah Taylor addressed several topics regarding Chad Wheeler’s alleged assault last month in an interview on “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday morning.

The ex-Seahawks offensive lineman wrote a series of tweets that basically said the events that led to his arrest on Jan. 23 “transpired from a manic episode.” Wheeler’s Twitter account is no longer active, and he has bipolar disorder.

Taylor accused Wheeler of choking her into unconsciousness twice. There is a case-setting hearing on Thursday, and also Wheeler’s trial is set to begin April 6.

Taylor was asked if she thinks Wheeler’s actions were related to his mental health.

“To be honest, I don’t know,” she said. “He went and ate dinner after doing this to me. He didn’t take the same approach with the cops as he did with me.”

Taylor revealed in the interview that she has a concussion and needs to get regularly checked. Also, Taylor says she has “bolts and a steel plate I’m going to have forever in my arm.”

According to the police report, Taylor had noticeable fingerprints on both sides of her neck. Also, scans showed Taylor had a fractured humerus and dislocated elbow in her left arm.

She also told CBS why she decided to appear in court for Wheeler’s hearing last week.

“I didn’t want him to think that he had that power over me, that I wasn’t going to defend myself. And I thought how easy for him and his legal team to be able to say whatever they want without having to look me in the eye,” Taylor said.

She added that she’s “beyond grateful” to be alive.
