A Tale Of Two Halves, Timbers Get A Draw 3-3 In Kansas City
By 750 THE GAME STAFF
Soccer is 90 minute game, but the Portland Timbers only showed up for 45 of them. It was good enough for a 3-3 draw for the Timbers.
The first half was all Sporting Kansas City. The scoring began early and often. Three first half goals including one right before the half gave Sporting Kansas City a 3-0 lead heading into the half.
But whatever Phil Neville said to the Timbers changed the entire game. It was almost a 4-0 lead, but Sporting Kansas City’s Willy Agata, who had two goals already, missed a PK wide. That was all the momentum the Timbers needed. Soon after it was a PK by the Timbers to get their first goal with Evander scoring on the PK.

Only three minutes later it was a goal by Felipe Mora scoring a goal to cut the lead to 3-2 Sporting KC.

With all of the momentum the Timbers kept the pressure on. It was a beautiful follow by Eric Miller to tie the match at 3. It is Miller’s first MLS goal through 10 years and 185 games!
