Washington Football Team Releases 2019 First Round Pick QB Dwayne Haskins

Washington’s wild ride with Dwayne Haskins is over.
Head coach Ron Rivera benched Haskins twice this season, including in Sunday’s loss to Carolina before cutting the QB on Monday.
Last week, he was photographed without a mask at his girlfriend’s birthday party, so Washington fined him $40,000 for violating COVID-19 protocols. He also lost his captainship.
Haskins’ actions also made him too much of a distraction to the Football Team.
Ron Rivera issues a statement regarding Haskins release soon after ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news.

Haskins was drafted No. 15 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Through two seasons he played in 16 games, starting 13, and he wasn’t very impressive.
Also, the former Buckeye only completed 60.1 percent of his passes for 2,801 yards with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions with Washington.
Unfortunately for Haskins, he never lived up to his Draft Day threat after being the third QB drafted behind Kyler Murray and Daniel Jones.
