Timbers Lose To Houston On Decision Day, Miss Playoffs

By 750 THE GAME STAFF,

There were a lot of scenarios for the Timbers to make the playoffs. Win, lose, or draw was all an option to make the playoffs. Yet, it didn’t happen as all six outcomes happened and the Portland Timbers miss out on the MLS playoffs.

Houston was the better team from the get-go as Houston got a goal real quick in the first half and all the momentum was on the Dynamo side.

Former Timber goalie Steve Clark is the Houston Dynamo goalie. Clark faced 15 shots and gave up no goals and the Portland Timbers season is over.

This is the second consecutive season that the Timbers have missed the playoffs and now there are questions to be asked about the team.

Interim head coach Miles Joseph hasn’t been offered the head coaching job. But he has had talks. Will the Timbers bring in a new coach from the outside or hire Joseph? What kind of players will be brought in and kept?

The Timbers didn’t play well in a disappointing season finale and we will be looking forward to next season.
