Timbers Battle, But Fall To Houston 1-0

It was a tough battle against the Houston Dynamo for the Portland Timbers. But it finished in a 1-0 loss.

Portland outshot Houston 18-9 in the match but the Timbers just couldn’t finish as they go shut out for the first time this season. It was also the Timbers first defeat of the season.

The Timbers had their chances early on in the match with a couple really good looks but couldn’t get it done.

In the 43rd minute it was a cross right in front of the goal and Ibrahim Aliyu of the Dynamo knocked it in to the back of the net.

Evander had his chance with an open look inside of the box, but he couldn’t finish and the Timbers get their first loss of the season 1-0.

Up next for the Timbers is a home match from Providence Park against the Philadelphia Union. Pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on 750 The Game.
