Sources: Doc Rivers Reaches Agreement on Deal to Become Next Head Coach of the Philadelphia 76ers

Sources told ESPN on Thursday that Doc Rivers has reached an agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers to become their next head coach.

Rivers’ deal with the 76ers comes just three days after departing with the Los Angeles Clippers. In seven seasons with the Clippers, LA went 356-208, winning 63.1% of their regular-season games. That was the fifth-best record in the NBA and the best by any team without appearing in a conference finals.

He returns to the Atlantic Division where he had won an NBA title as the head coach of the Boston Celtics in 2009.
