Seager, Murphy Both Hit Two-Run Homers, M’s Top Rays 7-4
Kyle Seager and Tom Murphy are playing ridiculously well, and they’ve hit the M’s to a four-game winning streak.
Seager extended his hit streak to 14 games after a first inning two-run blast to right field. Murphy upped his hit streak to eight games with a two-run shot of his own to left-center field in the sixth.
The game started and ended with a Matt on the mound for the M’s. Matt Wisler opened the game with a tense inning of work. In contrast, Matt Magill closed up shop with a relatively easy 1-2-3 inning for his second career save.
In the middle, Tommy Milone pitched the bulk of the innings for Seattle. He gave up six hits and four earned runs in five innings. The M’s five pitchers combined to strand eight Rays runners throughout the game.
Milone got the win, which marks his second straight W after he hadn’t won a game since May 27.
Mariners win 7-4.
