Paul George too much for the Blazers, as they fall to OKC, 120-111
A day after blowing a 14 point 4th quarter lead to the Dallas Mavericks, the Blazers were unable to bounce back as they fell to Oklahoma City tonight 120 to 111. Portland was unable to stop Thunder forward Paul George as he did whatever he wanted all night, scoring 47 points, adding 12 rebounds along with 10 assists to finish with a triple double. Not to be out done, his teammate Russell Westbrook recorded a triple double as well, finishing with 21 points, 14 boards, and 11 assists. It was Westbrooks 10th straight game with a triple double, breaking the NBA record held by Hall-of-Famer Wilt Chamberlin.
In the loss, Damian Lillard finished with 31 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds while Jake Layman had another solid game off the bench, recording 17 points along with 4 rebounds. Cj McCollum was a non factor on the night, scoring 13 points on 5-20 shooting.
This is now Portland’s 3rd loss in their last 4 games and the schedule does not get any easier as they host the Golden State Warriors, Wednesday night in the Moda Center. Make sure to tune in right after the final whistle for The Last Quarter with Peter Sampson.
