Oregon State Ties Utah For Most First Team Offensive All-Conference Preseason Selections

By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

The Pac-12 media has selected their first and second-team All Pac-12 preseason selections for offense. The Oregon State Beavers come away with three players on the first team while the Ducks have two.

For the Beavers, sophomore running back Damien Martinez is a first-team all-league selection. Last season, Martinez ran for 982 yards and 7 touchdowns and was named conference Freshman of the Year. It was the final six games of the season, minus the bowl game, where Martinez proved to be one of the best players in the conference, averaging over 123 yards per game and 6.3 yards per rush.

Joining Martinez is two of his offensive lineman: Joshua Gray, a junior offensive tackle who was a 2nd team all Pac 12 performer last season, and Taliese Fuaga, the other junior offensive tackle who was also a second team All Pac 12 performer last year.

Oregon State center Jake Levengood was chosen as a second-team preseason All-Pac 12 for OSU.

The Ducks are headlined by running back Bucky Irving, who rushed for 1,058 yards and 5 touchdowns last season after transferring from Minnesota. Irving was the only Duck to be included in the preseason first-team All-Pac 12. In fact, Irving was the only Duck on the offensive side of the ball to be either preseason first or second-team All-Pac 12.

The Pac-12 has media day this Friday where we will hear from all the top players and coaches in the conference leading up to the season. John Canzano broadcasts live 3-6 p.m. from Resorts World Las Vegas featuring the biggest exclusive interviews from media day.
