Oregon State Beats Notre Dame 70-65 To Advance To Elite Eight Of NCAA Tournament

Oregon State women’s basketball is back in the Elite Eight for the first time since 2018. The Beavers defeated Notre Dame 70-65 on Friday afternoon in the Sweet 16 of the Albany 1 Region.
The Beavers, who were picked to finish 10th in the Pac-12 preseason media poll, are the first team in the women’s bracket to punch its ticket to the Elite Eight. OSU will face the winner of top-seed South Carolina and 4-seed Indiana on Sunday in Albany, NY with a spot in the Final Four on the line. The Gamecocks and Hoosiers meet later Friday afternoon.
Timea Gardiner led the Beavers in scoring with 21 points and 11 rebounds to go with 4 assists, while Raegan Beers also had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman guard Donovyn Hunter hit a massive go-ahead three-pointer with under three minutes left in regulation, while sophomore Lily Hansford hit a three-pointer of her own to extend Oregon State’s lead to four points with under two minutes left to help nail down the victory.
