The Ducks (1-1) rose one spot to No. 15 in the latest AP Poll after Saturday’s 77-6 throttling of Nevada in Autzen Stadium. Stanford (1-1) is coming off a 45-20 loss at USC and backup quarterback Kedon Slovis, and are dealing with tough injuries to their QB KJ Costello (undisclosed) and 1st-Team All American tackle Walker Little (expected to return in October).
The Cardinal have a brutal schedule this year that includes a tough matchup this Saturday in Week 3 at No.17 UCF and former Notre Dame QB Brandon Wimbush (12:30pm, ESPN).
The Ducks are looking to avenge last year’s titanic meltdown to the Cardinal in Eugene, a nationally-televised game that saw Oregon lose a 24-7 halftime lead before falling in overtime, 38-31.
Oregon has not beaten Stanford since 2015 when Vernon Adams led the Ducks to a 38-36 upset of then No.7-ranked Stanford on the farm.
