Seattle Routed by Texas, 11-4
The Rangers jumped all over the Mariners early, scoring 11 runs in the first 5 innings, and Seattle could never recover as they fell 11-4. Nomar Mazara and Ronald Guzman both had multi-run home runs for the Rangers. Texas pitcher Adrian Samspson got the win, going 5 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 6 batters.
Seattle starting pitcher Marco Gonzales had one of his worst outings of his year, going 4 innings and allowing 6 runs on 8 hits. Mallex Smith had a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 5th for the Mariners while Shed Long had a RBI single in the bottom of 8th. It was Long’s first major league RBI.
Seattle now drops to 24-33 on the year. They continue their 3 game series with Texas tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 from T-Mobile Park.
