Late Ebobisse Goal Grabs Three Points for Portland
The Portland Timbers defeat F.C Dallas 1-0 after a Jeremy Ebobisse winner in the 84th minute moving to 5-1-6 on the MLS season. Portland was inferior to Dallas when they were defeated 4-1 in Texas this May but Portland with bodies back from international duty and a full home crowd behind them controlled the game Saturday night.
Shot totals were lower than average for both sides but Steve Clark’s clean sheet was still well earned.
Tonight was the first game with 100% capacity at Providence Park since the pandemic. There was few scoring chances for the Portland faithful to stand for but Jeremy Ebobisse gave the crowd what they wanted in the 84th minute.
Ebobisse’s winner was his third of the campaign and the 25th of his career. After 16 days of rest, the Timbers have three games in a week, facing LAFC next at home on Wednesday.
