Maddon replaces Brad Ausmus, who the Angels fired after one season.
Maddon won the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs, which was the Cubs first title since 1908. Now he takes over an Angels roster led by annual MVP candidate Mike Trout at just 28 years old.
