John Canzano Breaks Down Miami Push for Mario Cristobal and Oregon’s Massive Contract to Keep Him

An eventful Friday in Oregon sports got yet another shot in the arm as John Canzano from Las Vegas joined fill-in host Judah Newby to break some news regarding Oregon Head Coach Mario Cristobal.

Cristobal and the Oregon Ducks look to secure their third successive PAC-12 Championship Friday night but behind the scenes, news off the field has taken center-stage. The University of Miami currently has a head coach in place in Manny Diaz and the board of trustees want to keep it that way; meanwhile, a powerful billionaire boaster at Miami desperately wants Mario Cristobal to coach at Miami. Canzano also reported there is a charter plane from Miami on its way to Las Vegas.

Cristobal played at Miami from 1989-1992 and his family resides in southern Florida. The decision to go home and back to his alma mater is an enticing one from Cristobal but the project at Oregon is not complete having yet to make a CFB playoff.

Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullins has prepared a contract to keep Mario Cristobal in Eugene as Miami University continues its pursuit for Mario Cristobal.

“I can confirm this right now the University of Oregon have a contract in front of Mario Cristobal… (the contract) is aggressive and in line with what we’ve seen from the last week,” said Canzano.

Oregon is going all-in to keep their head coach.
