Jaguars Release Leonard Fournette

Former No. 4 overall pick Leonard Fournette will not be with Jacksonville in 2020.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news, and then added some context from Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone.
Jaguars did all they could to trade RB Leonard Fournette in the spring and then again this summer. But as Jaguars’ HC Doug Marrone said today: “We couldn’t get anything, a fifth, a sixth, anything. We couldn’t get anything.”

In three seasons with the Jags, Fournette struggled with staying on the field. He only played 13 games his first season due to an ankle injury and a suspension for violating team rules, but he still ran for 1,040 yards and nine rushing touchdowns.
His second year, he missed nine games in total, after a hamstring injury and he missed a game due to suspension. Fournette only rushed for 439 yards and five TDs.
Last season, he played in 15 games and gathered 1,152 yards, but just three touchdowns.
Fournette posted his thanks to the fans and organization on Twitter.
