Another day, another lead lost in the final three innings.

Wednesday, it was the bullpen charged with the runs and the loss. However, on Thursday, “headliner” Tommy Milone gave up all five earned runs.

Milone wasn’t the pitcher when the final two runs scored, that was Matt Festa, but officially, Milone picks up the loss.

The Mariners led 4-3 in the 7th before Milone gave up a walk and a single. Manager Scott Servais pulled Milone, and he put in Festa.

Festa immediately gave up a walk (loading the bases) and then the deciding single to Tommy Edman.

If Edman’s name rings a small bell, it’s because he hit the 3-run home run that gave St. Louis the win on Wednesday. He gave the Cards the lead again Thursday to send the M’s to a second straight loss.

The loss also means Seattle loses their second straight series; losing this series to the Cardinals two games to one.
