Damian Lillard Trade In 4th Quarter As Raptors Look Like They’re Real

By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

The Damian Lillard trade request is almost out of the newborn stage and is reaching the baby stage. The request happened on July 1st. Almost three months later and Lillard is still on the Blazers.

There are new reports out that the Blazers have been in contact with numerous teams and are acting like a team that is ready and willing to trade Lillard before media day which is October 2nd.

According to Marc Spears, the Toronto Raptors have moved in and are now the favorites to acquire the all-star point guard. Spears says that the Trail Blazers haven’t reached out to the Miami Heat since Summer League and that the Raptors are ready to play ball and make a trade with the Blazers.

John Canzano weighed in on the Bald Faced Truth radio show and says whether or not the Raptors news is real, the Blazers need to move on from Lillard to avoid more distractions.

“With these trades, often there’s a lot of smoke before there’s fire,” Canzano said on 750 The Game. “And often the trade possibilities that get talked about are agents manipulating media, trying to manipulate the market. Maybe the Raptors are being used here to try and get more out of Miami. Maybe the Raptors are real. I’m just ready for this thing to be over. I’m starting to slide over that this is a big distraction and it needs to go away.”

It’s impossible to know what is real or not. But at this moment, it seems like we are in the fourth quarter of a Damian Lillard trade. We just need to find out who hits the final shot between the Heat and the Raptors.

John Canzano delivers the Bald Faced Truth afternoons 3-6 p.m. exclusively in Portland on 750 The Game.
