Blazers Lose Rodney Hood for Season to Torn Achilles, Fall to West-Leading Lakers
The Portland Trail Blazers started the 2019-20 season talking about returning to the Western Conference Finals. Some players even spoke about making an NBA Finals appearance. Those hopes took another hit Friday night against the Lakers.
Around 3:30 to go in the first quarter, the Blazers saw the injury bug bite Rodney Hood. After collecting a defensive rebound from a LeBron James miss, Hood crumbled to the floor in pain.
The Blazers announced what many feared. Hood tore the Achilles tendon in his left leg.

Portland lost Zach Collins in the third game of the season. Now, the Blazers lose Hood in game 23. Collins is expected to return in a few months, while Hood is lost for the season.

A season with so much promise and hope continues to be ravaged by injury.
As for the game on Friday. The Lakers led 34-32 in the first quarter and never trailed again, LA won 136-113.
