DJ Uiagalelei posted to social media Thursday saying he will enter the transfer portal after one season at Oregon State.

Uiagelelei threw for a career-high 2,638 yards with 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions as the Beavers starting quarterback this season. Oregon State finished 8-4 with losses to Washington and Oregon to end the regular season, capped by Jonathan Smith’s decision to leave the program after six seasons for the job at Michigan State.

DJU could still return to Oregon State if he doesn’t like his options in the portal, or he could declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Backup quarterback Aidan Chiles, who played in nine games this year, has yet to make a decision on his future. Chiles could return to the Beavers as the presumed starting quarterback under recently named head coach Trent Bray, or he could himself enter the transfer portal and potentially reunite with Smith and offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren at Michigan State.

Bray, the Beavers defensive coordinator the past 2-1/2 seasons, has yet to make an official hire at offensive coordinator as he continues to fill out his first coaching staff.

Uiagalelei has one season left of eligibility.
