Beavers QB Jake Luton granted 6th year of eligibility by NCAA
Oregon State quarterback Jake Luton will be around one more season.
The senior signal-caller has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, it was announced Thursday.
Luton missed 8 games in 2017 after suffering a spine injury at Washington State, and missed all or parts of seven more games last season with an ankle injury.
Luton was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to their first road win since 2014, a 28-point second half comeback at Colorado on Oct. 27th.
Luton figures to be the Beavers starter in the 2019 season, after backup QB Connor Blount’s decision to transfer at the end of last season. OSU also has Tristan Gebbia on its roster, a transfer from Nebraska, but Gebbia has yet to play a collegiate game after sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer rules and redshirting at Nebraska in 2017.
