Beavers, College World Series Star Kevin Abel Returning for 2021 Season
The Oregon State Beavers’ starting pitching grew deeper and significantly more talented on Monday, when ace pitcher Kevin Abel decided to return to Corvallis for the 2021 college baseball season.
Abel was the star of the 2018 College World Series, and announced on Twitter that he would be staying in Corvallis. He issued a simple five-word message to OSU fans: “See you soon Beaver Nation.”

It was confirmed by a team spokesperson later on that Abel would return to Oregon State next season. The news came less than a week after Abel wasn’t selected in the 2020 MLB draft and is the latest turn in what has been an eventful college career.
Statistically, Abel holds a 10-1 record with a 3.04 ERA. He has earned 133 strikeouts over 97.2 innings during his college career, and will enter next season with three years of eligibility remaining.
