The Timbers took that lead into halftime, outshooting Galaxy in the period 8-3 in total shots, with a 2-2 split in shots on target.

Portland battled valiantly to protect the goal advantage in the second half, but the home side would find a breakthrough to equalize late in the match.  Sub extraordinaire Dejan Jovelich headed home a quality service from Julian Arajo to make it 1-1 in the 88th minute.  Galaxy pushed for the winner, but after four minutes of added time, the score held, with the Timbers taking a road point to end a three-match losing streak.

The Timbers return to Providence Park next Saturday night to host Colorado Rapids, 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on 750 The Game.
