World Series game one starters named

The 118th World Series is set to get underway Friday evening, and now we know who will take the mound in game one.

For the Phillies, Aaron Nola takes the mound. While he was only 11-13 on the season, his 3.25 ERA shows that his win/loss record was more an issue of run support. Batters only hit .219 against Nola this year.

Meanwhile, the Astros will tap ace Justin Verlander in the opener. Despite his age (39), Verlander had another stellar season, going 18-4 with a 0.83 WHIP.

Friday’s first pitch will be at 5:03 PST from Houston. The betting line for Game One is Astros -1.5.
