WATCH: Canzano Says Bo Nix Must Limit His Rushing For Oregon Ducks To Win Big

By 750 The Game Staff

Bo Nix is expecting greatness from Oregon Ducks football this season, but for that to happen, John Canzano says Nix has to limit his running attempts in order to stay healthy the entire season.

“The first thing Oregon needs to do this season has nothing to do with defense, has nothing to do with Dan Lanning and his coaching decisions, it has everything to do with Bo Nix,” Canzano said on 750 The Game.

“We saw Bo Nix get hurt in the Washington game, and we saw how fragile Oregon’s season is,” Canzano continued. “If it can’t keep Bo Nix healthy, there isn’t going to be much upside to the season.”

Canzano says Nix, who rushed for 14 touchdowns last year, should not try to break Oregon’s single-season record of QB rushing scores that Marcus Mariota set in his Heisman Trophy winning season of 2014 (15 rushing TDs). It is more important for Nix to be selective in his decisions to run, and to do so in the biggest games, not in contests like Saturday’s season-opener against Portland State.
