Over 42,000 reportedly showed up to Autzen Stadium over the weekend to witness firsthand the Oregon Ducks 2022 Spring Game, the first under new head coach Dan Lanning.

Explosive plays and turnovers highlighted the beautiful Saturday afternoon in Eugene, with Team Yellow ultimately topping Team Green 31-21 in the intra-squad exhibition.

The quarterback battle was on full display, as Bo Nix, Ty Thompson, and Jay Butterfield each commanded significant reps.

Nix arguably had the most impressive day of the trio, throwing three touchdowns and completing eight of his 15 pass attempts while also throwing an interception.  Nix opened the game with a deep crosser to Seven McGee, who tacked on yards after the catch to total a 70-yard pickup on the first play from scrimmage.  Two plays later, Nix found McGee over the middle for the game’s first touchdown.  McGee finished with six catches for 116 yards and a score.

Ty Thompson led the Green Team at the quarterback position.  Thompson completed only 12 of his 27 pass attempts with two interceptions, but also tossed a touchdown.

Jay Butterfield went 10-for-13 for Team Green and tossed a touchdown, and also played for Team Yellow where he finished 6-for-13 for 64 yards and an interception.

The trio of quarterbacks combined for the five touchdowns through the air but also the four picks.
