Diego Valeri and Jeremy Ebobisse each tallied their first goals of the preseason on Wednesday in Tucson as the Portland Timbers defeated Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 in the opening match of the 2019 Mobile Mini Sun Cup from Kino Sports Complex.

It was the third preseason match for the Timbers, and their first stateside after a pair of exhibitions in Costa Rica last week.

Per the Timbers website, the club’s first team played 60 minutes together and 22 total players saw action on the pitch.

Valeri’s goal came on a converted penalty kick in the 40th minute that tied the match 1-1 after Andy Polo was taken down inside the box.

Ebobisse had the game-winner in the 88th minute when he finished home a beautiful assist from Dairon Asprilla.

The Timbers are next in action this Saturday at 6pm against the New York Red Bulls as the Mobile Mini Sun Cup continues.  A live stream of the match can be found on Timbers.com, and tune in Wednesdays at 6pm every week for Talk Timbers on 102.9FM/750AM The GAME.
