Daniels was the starting QB for USC before he suffered a season-ending injury against Fresno State in Week 1 of 2019.
The Irvine, Cali. native becomes the third Trojans quarterback to enter the transfer portal in the last year.
JT Daniels is the third #USC QB to enter the transfer portal within the past year or so. Matt Fink entered it last spring and ultimately stayed at USC. Jack Sears entered last fall, graduated and didn’t return.

The Daniels departure appears to put last year’s Daniels replacement, Kedon Slovis, in the driver’s seat to be the Trojan’s starting QB next season. Slovis threw for just over 3,500 yards with 30 touchdowns and just nine interceptions last year.
