UO Board of Trustees Passes Proposal for Largest Video Board in College Athletics

Autzen Stadium is getting a massive upgrade.

James Crepea of the Oregonian reported Tuesday the University of Oregon Board of Trustees approved a proposal to construct a sound system and the biggest video board in college sports at Autzen Stadium.

The video board will be 12,276 square feet (186′ x 66′) and the full project will cost $12 million, according to Crepea.

With the new board going in above the East end zone terrace, the current sound system and video board “in the Northeast corner of Autzen Stadium will be removed to make way for the new support structure, sound system and video board,” according to Crepea.

The new video board will have a “rear-facing” video board on the back, and that backside board will reportedly require the city of Eugene’s approval.

Meanwhile, the video board on the West side of Autzen will stay and continue to be used.
