Tyrod Taylor will be the LA Chargers starting quarterback Week 1 at Cincinnati.
The nine-year vet officially received the nod over former Oregon Duck Justin Herbert from Chargers coach Anthony Lynn on Wednesday.
It was rumored all offseason Taylor would be the opening day starter for LA. Herbert, the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, will serve as Taylor’s backup.
When the Chargers open the regular season a week from Sunday against the Bengals, HC Anthony Lynn told reporters today that QB “Tyrod Taylor’s our starter.”

Some experts around the NFL believe Herbert could still take over if the Chargers struggle with Taylor at the helm.
