Trent Bray receives contract extension through 2024

Oregon State announced Monday a contract extension for defensive coordinator Trent Bray that runs through the 2024 season.

Bray guided the Beaver defense to an excellent season, part of a 9-win campaign for the program, their most victories in a decade.  Oregon State’s defense ranked second in the conference allowing 342 yards a game.  In conference games, OSU led the Pac-12 in total defense (337 yards allowed/game) and scoring defense (20.0 points allowed/game).

Oregon State held at the goal line in the final moments of their amazing 38-34 comeback win over Oregon in the regular-season finale.  The Ducks could not score for the go-ahead touchdown after having first-and-goal at the 5-yard line.

Bray impressed in what was his first full season as defensive coordinator after taking over as interim defensive coordinator on Nov. 7th, 2021 following the firing of defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar.  Bray was named full-time defensive coordinator on Dec. 21st, 2021.

Bray played linebacker at Oregon State from 2002-05 under head coach Mike Riley and defensive coordinator Mark Banker.  Bray was twice an all-conference selection at Oregon State.

The Beavers (9-3, 6-3 Pac-12) will learn their bowl game on Sun., Dec. 4th, the day of the College Football Playoff final rankings release.
