Trail Blazers Win Second Straight; Drop Grizzlies 130-109

It took a good 60 games, but the Portland Trail Blazers have started playing defense.

Looking for a little revenge from two straight losses, the Trail Blazers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 130-109. The Trail Blazers used a consistent defensive effort across the board to get a win that was never in doubt after the first quarter.

Portland was led by their trio of guards. CJ McCollum led the way with 26 points. Norman Powell had 24 points and Damian Lillard chipped in 23 for the second consecutive game. Off the bench, Carmelo Anthony scored 18 points. But the story was the defense – the Trail Blazers limited the Grizzlies to 42 percent from the floor and 29 percent from the 3-point line.

The Trail Blazers now sit firmly in seventh place in the Western Conference, only a half game behind Dallas for the sixth spot in the standings. Up next for the Trail Blazers, they take on the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
