Portland heads into Game 2 on Thursday night having won five in a row, and nine of their last eleven games. The Lakers have now lost five of their last six games, and continue to struggle shooting the basketball. The Blazers are not known for their defense, but in Game 1 they were able to hold the Lakers to just 93 total points (5 of 32 from three-point range).
Things will not get any easier as the Blazers look to steal another game and take a 2-0 series lead. An interesting nugget to consider heading into Game 2 is that fact that besides the Memphis Grizzlies, the Blazer’s have not played the same team twice during their late run, and Thursday night will be the first time they play back-to-back games against the same team.
We will see how the Los Angeles Lakers adjust to what Portland was able to throw at them in Game 1. Was the loss a major wake-up call for LeBron and company? Or is it a sign that the Lakers are in for a long haul against Portland in their opening series?
