Trail Blazers Trade Labissiere to Atlanta

The Portland Trail Blazers are clearly trying to duck the luxury tax as much as possible.

Portland traded big man Skal Labissiere to the Atlanta Hawks:

But the return wasn’t a player at a position of need. In fact there was no return at all. Labissiere was absorbed into Atlanta’s cap space.

The move is strictly financial for the Trail Blazers, who are working to minimize their tax bill during a season in which they are struggling:
