The Trail Blazers downed the Timberwolves 106-98 on Wednesday night. Shaedon Sharpe exploded for 33 points while rookie big man Donovan Clingan had a near triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.

It was Portland’s second win over Minnesota in as many nights following Tuesday’s 122-108 win to open group play in the NBA Cup.

The Blazers improve to 5-8 overall on the season. They have a few days to rest before taking the floor Sunday at home against the Atlanta Hawks (3:00 p.m., KATU).
