The Portland Timbers announced their preseason schedule today for the 2019 MLS season. The squad will travel to San Jose, Costa Rica and Tucson for some preseason training, including six matches in that time, according to the team’s press release.

The Timbers training starts next week, on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in Portland. The team will leave for Costa Rica to begin an 11-day training camp after Jan. 30 at Complejo Deportivo Fedefutbol Plycem, which is the home of the Costa Rica Football Federation.

Portland will face Deportivo Saprissa on Feb. 4 and C.S. Herediano on Feb. 7.

In Tucson, the Timbers will battle Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC on Feb. 13. Portland will also face the New York Red Bulls, USL side Phoenix Rising FC, and Real Salt Lake during the Mobile Mini Sun Cup in Arizona.

The regular season starts on the road for Portland against the Colorado Rapids on March 2.
