TIMBERS to face CLUB AMÉRICA in CCL Quarterfinals starting April 28th at Providence Park

TIMBERS OPEN QUARTERFINALS OF 2021 SCOTIABANK CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE VS. CLUB AMÉRICA ON APRIL 28 AT PROVIDENCE PARK
Two-legged Quarterfinal round will see Portland host Club América on April 28, before traveling to Mexico City for second leg on May 5


PORTLAND, Ore. –
 Concacaf today confirmed the schedule for the Quarterfinals of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (SCCL). The Portland Timbers will first play host to Club América at Providence Park in the first leg on Wednesday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), before traveling to face América at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico on Wednesday, May 5 at 7:15 p.m. (Pacific). Both matches will feature a national broadcast on FS1 and TUDN.

Tickets for the first leg on April 28 will go on sale to Annual Members on April 19 at 10 a.m. (Pacific), and to the general public on April 20 at 10 a.m. (Pacific), via Timbers.com/tickets or Seatgeek.com.

2021 SCCL Quarterfinals – Leg 2
Club América vs. Portland Timbers – Wed., May 5 at 7:15 p.m. (Pacific)
Estadio Azteca – Mexico City, Mexico

The Timbers advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, after defeating C.D. Marathón 5-0 in the second leg of the Round of 16 at Providence Park on April 13. Portland played to a 2-2 draw against C.D. Marathón in Honduras on April 6 in the first leg. Club América competes in Liga MX in Mexico and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2021 SCCL after advancing past Club Olimpia in the Round of 16 on away goals (2-2 aggregate).

The winner of this elite club competition will be crowned regional club champion and will represent the confederation at the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup. The current champion is Tigres UANL after they won the 2020 SCCL and subsequently performed impressively at the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar, where they became the first team from the Concacaf region to reach a Club World Cup final.
