Timbers Niezgoda, Clark Named to MLS Team of the Week XI, Chara on Bench

The Portland Timbers blanked the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday night, and three players received recognition from Major League Soccer on Monday.

Jaroslaw Niezgoda had a brace, scoring two of the three Portland goals. Steve Clark had a clean sheet, with seven saves in the 3-0 shutout. Finally, Diego Chara assisted on two of the Timbers goals.

MLSsoccer.com’s editorial staff picks the Team of the Week, and all three Timbers found a spot. Clark and Niezgoda in the XI, while Chara was picked as a bench player for Team of the Week.
