Cristhian Paredes scored a brace, Diego Valeri added a beautiful goal, and Steve Clark made saves on his head tonight as the Timbers routed the Galaxy 4-0. The Galaxy looked lifeless and disinterested at times during the match, and the Timbers took full advantage. Portland dominated from the opening whistle as they held fifty-two percent possession and had twenty-two shots(ten of them on frame) compared to only ten total for Los Angeles.

The Timbers were without midfielder Diego Chara tonight, and they earned their first victory without him since July of 2015.

Portland now moves over the red line for the first time this season as they have 31 points and sit in 7th place in the Western conference.

The Timbers, who had drawn back-to-back games at home prior to Saturday, improved to a 3-1-2 record at Providence Park. The Timbers will play 11 of their final 13 MLS regular season games at home this season.
