Timbers Dominate Sporting Kansas City 7-2 To Get Back On Track

The Portland Timbers put on a scoring clinic in front of its home fans on Saturday night en route to a 7-2 thrashing of Sporting Kansas City.

Bill Tulioma got the night started with a goal in the 12′ off of a free kick assist from Eryk Williamson.

The Timbers went into halftime with the 1-0 advantage, but came out of the locker room swinging. Sebastian Blanco netted two goals in the 46′ and 52′ to put the Timbers in complete control.

Nathan Fogaça, in his first career MLS game, added two goals in the 56′ and 69′ to continue the rout.

Marvin Loria (’88) and Santiago Moreno (’90+2) added the Timbers other two goals while Sporting Kansas City struck in the 57′ and 75′.

In total, there were 8 goals scored in the second half between the two sides. 7 goals sets the club record for the Timbers.

Portland will be back in action on Wednesday, May 18th as it travels to the bay to take on the San Jose Quakes.
